Play the Parks - Julie Sun Lee

12:00PM — 2:00PM

Monday August 12

777 Bay Street Courtyard

Free

Julie was first recognized for her talents as a violinist during competitions, then by Maestro Viktor Pikaizen (pupil of renowned David Oistrakh) during a masterclass. By invitation, Julie relocated to Europe to become Maestro Pikaizen's protege.

Following her training in Europe, Julie continued her studies at the Eastman School of Music on a four-year undergraduate scholarship, under the tutelage of Oleh Krysa, followed by a Master's degree and teaching assistantship at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Julie has spent subsequent summers in various workshops, festivals, and conferences throughout North America and Europe as student, festival player and guest artist and collaborator.

Although trained rigorously within the Classical genre, Julie continues to challenge the boundaries of what it means to be an artist today and works beyond the confines of the Classical genre. Julie's music encompasses a broad range of genres blended with the use of a violin, vocals, and a loop pedal.

Play the Parks is presented by TD Bank, produced by the Downtown Yonge BIA.
