The Downtown Yonge BIA kicks off a summer of fun in the laneways with ANIMATE: Victoria Street Lane. Experience the heart of our city and reconnect with the hidden corners of the downtown core - through music.
This year, the laneway lights up with food, beverages, and fun in celebration of the width and breadth of our Music City's landscape, and the musical legacy of the downtown core, with three amazing performers!
Fun activities start at 5:00 PM; Music Performances at 6:00 PM
Artists playing are:
Baoba! Toronto’s top female percussionists take traditional beats to the next level. Empowered by the natural musicality that flows from South American bodies, Baoba demonstrates an ideal balance of voice, melody, and instrumentation.
Moskitto Bar! Always evolving and changing, looking to explore the music of the world. Every show, Moskitto Bar brings magic, with a musical journey across the world, from BrIttany to Bagdad, with a few stops in the Balkans and Ukraine. A music you never heard before because the influences are from all over the world. Moskitto Bar also brings a message of love, hope and compassion with members from all over the world. A true representation of the multiculturalism of Toronto.
Big Smoke Brass! Heavy-hitting brass machine from Toronto playing all kinds of music in a high- energy and ear-catching style. Dedicated to spreading positivity and fostering community through music, the band seeks to reach as many people as possible while bringing exciting, encaptivating sounds and a powerful, positive brass-filled party whether playing on the streets, or on the stage.
To add to the fun, Toronto’s newest esports team, The Hazard, will be making an appearance at the event! You can meet players or challenge a friend to a game or two!
