Michael Morales is a Toronto based Neo Soul / Hip Hop artist with community in his foreground. With influences ranging from artists such as Common, Lauryn Hill, and Kendrick Lamar, Morales takes a socially-conscious approach to Hip Hop music using poetic lyricism and soulful production as a means to empower and educate marginalized communities.
“I want to be to my community, and people who grew up just like me, the role model I never got to have. My goal is to inspire others to share their stories and become leaders in their communities,” explains Morales.
Through his music, Morales has worked across Canada, speaking and performing in front of over 20,000 youth, on over 260 stages, at over 200 events. He’s opened up for Grammy Award winning artist, Mya (2016), performed at the TD JUNO Green Room (2015), and headlined at the Speak Your Peace Festival in Toronto (2017) with NYC Hip Hop Duo, Oshun.
Play the Parks is presented by TD Bank, produced by the Downtown Yonge BIA.
